Incident
An unplanned event which has the potential to cause injury, ill health to people or damage to property and the environment.
Accident
An unplanned event or incident that causes or contributes to personal injury.
Involved Person
A person who has either been injured or was a witness to the event in which a person was injured.
Hazard
A situation or a thing or an environment which has the potential to cause harm to a person.
Corrective Action
Planned action(s) to eliminate or minimise the potential of a hazard to cause harm to a person, to damage plant or the environment.
Notifiable Incident
Where an incident has resulted in:
- the death of a person
- serious injury or illness
- dangerous incident
these must be notified to the Regulator by Flinders University via the Work Health and Safety Unit.
