Qualtrics

• Qualtrics is available to all staff. Students can also use the tool with college or FUSA approval.
• Qualtrics can be accessed via the Flinders dashboard (OKTA) - simply use 'Add to Okta' to include Qualtrics as one of the tools you can access.

• Qualtrics has been cloud certified to store data up to "Restricted" classification level. Please ensure any data captured as part of the survey has been classified to this level. For further information view the data storage page. 
• Qualtrics surveys must not be used to collect credit cards, passwords, tax file numbers, or other similar types of sensitive information
• Qualtrics surveys must comply with conditions in the Acceptable Use of Technology procedure
• Qualtrics surveys must not include content intended to deceive or mislead respondents or other users, including by linking to websites with malicious software such as malware
• Qualtrics survey respondents provide responses and information with the expectation that their information will be handled respectfully and not abused
• All surveys must comply with the expected ethical standards of the University. If you are unsure of the policy compliance level of your survey design please check with your College Director of Research, or with Research Development and Support.
• It is encouraged that all survey creators include a privacy statement in your surveys and require you to act in accordance with those practices:
  • You may not claim that a survey or form is anonymous when it is not
  • You may not impersonate others when presenting your survey or collecting information

First use & templates

• We have a license for 'Research Core’ so in order to commence the creation of your first survey, you need to select one of the options from the ‘Research Core’ list only.
• You can then choose to create a survey from one of the following options:
  • A library of survey templates you create
  • A blank survey
  • An extensive library of survey templates provided by Qualtrics
• Should you wish to use a template, simply select the option ‘From a Template Library’, then select the library ‘Qualtrics Library’.

• There are guides to Advanced Qualtrics enhancements such as CSS & Javascript.
