Definitions

ACT Flinders University Act 1966.
COURSE a degree or other academic award at Flinders.
CREDIT TRANSFER is the granting of status or credit by the university to students for modules or topics completed at another institution or training organisation or towards the requirements of another course at Flinders.
COLLEGE the basic administrative structure for academic and support staff responsible for teaching and research. Each College may offer more than one course and can contain a number of disciplines.
MAJOR a structured cluster of topics leading to a specialisation within a course (also known as a "program")
PROGRAM a structured cluster of topics leading to a specialisation within a course (also known as a "major"); a course; or an articulated cluster of courses.
TOPIC one of the subjects that comprise a course.
VICE PRESIDENT and EXECUTIVE DEAN each College has a Vice-President (VP) & Executive Dean (ED), responsible for providing academic leadership and management.
