All lectures in major theatres are automatically recorded and published to the topic in Canvas. A lecture is any teaching activity defined as a 'lecture' in the Student Management system (formerly called Student Two), from which timetabling requirements are generated. Timetable information is sent directly to the lecture capture system. You can check what rooms have lecture capture capability in the room booking list.
There is also the capability to manually record a lecture, seminar, tutorial or anything else in rooms that support lecture capture.
Lectures are recorded and made available in Canvas to support our students in their studies. This is so that:
- Students can revisit the recordings of lectures they attended to revise and clarify ideas. This is especially useful for students with learning disabilities or for whom English is a second/additional language.
- Students are able to catch up on lectures they’ve missed because of illness, unavoidable work or family commitments.
