By ensuring that students hear from you about where and how to get timely and relevant support, you contribute to their academic success and well-being in your topic and their broader University experience. Within FLO, links to student support exist, including educational, technological, and administrative support services, which are persistent links and updated regularly.
Tip 1: Locate and summarise existing student support available in FLO
At the start of the semester, describe the overall support links found in FLO to your students and point students to where they are in your FLO site. Student support information is part of the ‘Finding your way module’ within all FLO topic sites that use the Canvas topic shell. Repeat contextually relevant support throughout the semester. You can build this into your communications, such as announcements, forum posts or tutorials.

Tip 2: Prepare new resources for specific support
If you can’t find existing resources, you may want to explore how to make additional support resources available in your FLO site(s). By working with existing support services (eg Library, Student Learning Support Service), you can co-develop resources and plan how to distribute them. If these resources are suitable for reuse or adaptation by others, there are options for sharing resources with peers.
