Non-research certification form

The certification ('cert') form is used to obtain early ‘in-principle’ approval for non-research, income generating activities.

Approval should be sought for any new income generating activity over $10,000 (per occurrence) which requires the commitment of:

University resources (such as lab space, facilities, equipment, consumables etc); or
Staff time.

What activities the form can be used for

Consulting

External service delivery

Tenders, EOI’s, applications for grant funding etc

Secondments

Curriculum licence arrangements

Access fees to University resources

Activities which already have approval

Activities which do not involve University staff or resources

When should the form be submitted?

The completed form should be submitted for approval at the earliest possible stage, i.e. prior to commencing contractual negotiations or submitting an application for funding.

Approval of the form gives in-principle support for the applicant to progress the activity, but does not necessarily mean that the resulting contract will be approved. Contract approval will be subject to legal review and approval by a delegated signatory.

How do I submit a non-research income certification form?

Download and complete the form and then submit it to the Contract Services team via Service One. The Contract Services team will organize signature by the relevant approver.
