Has your overseas travel has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak?
As per the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students) 10 March 2020 email, previously approved non-essential international travel has been cancelled until further notice due to concerns about the spread of the coronavirus. DFAT advice for all countries remains ‘Do not travel’.
If travel booked before this date has been cancelled, then in the first instance please contact your travel agent (or the administrators for STA), the airline(s), accommodation, conference organisers, etc to ask for a credit/ postponement/ refund. If you are unable to recoup all expenses, you may lodge a claim on the University’s travel insurer’s online portal for consideration.
Any travel booked after this time is likely to be subject to COVID-19 exclusions.
When you have been advised by the travel insurer of the status of your claim (settled or declined), please send the notification to Risk and Assurance Services on email@example.com.
Please note that private travel expenses outside of the dates on your FlindersPro travel approval email are not to be included unless you have purchased additional travel insurance via the University’s broker. If you have purchased private travel insurance from another provider for your private travel, you will need to claim from that provider.
