Approving timesheets for casual academic staff in Portfolios
Managing and recording your timesheets should now be done electronically using our timesheet for casual academic staff. This is available through the Employee Self Service. All timesheets should be submitted in this way. If there is any reason why you cannot use the electronic timesheet please email payroll@flinders.edu.au stating your reason(s). These will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The timesheet can be completed on a weekly basis or repeated over consecutive weeks. It should be submitted to your supervisor or delegated approver for approval as required. To ensure prompt payment it must be submitted and approved prior to the pay deadlines.
Instructions:
Additional information
Timesheets cannot be entered with dates that overlap the end date of the old contract and the start of the new contract.
To get around this, enter two timesheets, one that ends at the end date of the previous contract and the other one that starts on the start date of the new contract.
The current casual pay rates are available on the salary scales and calculator webpage.
The Enterprise Agreement specifies both casual academic and casual professional staff Terms and Conditions of employment, including rates and the descriptors for casual academics.
Online video tutorials provide users with a visual and easy way to learn about the services offered within the Employee Self Service.
