FAQs 

A Research Project in ResearchNow is an organised repository, efficiently containing and managing a wide array of content linked with a research project. It is simply a container or ‘bundle’ in ResearchNow that can contain multiple applications and awards, and also research outputs, presentations, etc. It’s a useful way to publish current research activity on the researcher’s profile in the ResearchNow Portal, if approved by the College Dean (Research).

Guides for Researchers

The following guides will provide instructions on how to create projects within ResearchNow.

Frequently asked questions

I have entered my project into ResearchNow but it is not appearing on the ResearchNow portal. Why is it not appearing? keyboard_arrow_up

Before a project can appear on the ResearchNow portal, it needs to go through an internal approval process. When a project has been entered into the system and is ready to be verified, it will have the status of For Approval.

Ensure to set the visibility of the record to Public – No restrictions before submitting for approval.

The Dean (Research) is responsible for verifying the project for its accuracy and completeness and for approving it.

When the approval process has been completed, the project then appears on the ResearchNow portal.

Can I link my project to its related research outputs? keyboard_arrow_up

Yes, you can link your project with its related research outputs.

In your Project record in ResearchNow, scroll down to Research output field and select Add icon. Select all the related outputs and then save the record. When the project has been approved, it will appear in ResearchNow public portal along with the linked research outputs.

For more information, refer to the guide for creating project (add link).

If my project has been approved, can I still make further amendment to the project record? keyboard_arrow_up

Once a project record has been approved, you cannot make any changes to the content. You'll have to contact your respective College Dean (Research), requesting them to return the project record to Entry in Progress status so that it can be further edited.

I have contributed to another researcher's project. Where do I find the project in ResearchNow? keyboard_arrow_up

If you are an active contributor to a project created by another researcher, you will be added as Participant in the Project record. You will then receive a notification in ResearchNow, informing you that you have been added to the project. Select the provided link in the notification to access the project details.

Once the project has been approved by the relevant Dean (Research), it will appear in your ResearchNow public portal within Projects module.
