Teaching Excellence Awards

Purpose

The Teaching Excellence Awards are designed to recognise and reward teaching excellence that reflects a commitment to two of the following focus areas:

Student success and wellbeing
Innovative and flexible curriculum and resource design that meets the needs of students
Working with industry to ensure relevant, contemporary, and high-quality student learning
Educational approaches and/or curriculum that meets the needs of Rural, Regional, Remote communities
Education that demonstrates alignment and impact with RAP deliverables and enhanced Indigenous student experience and participation
Teaching and curriculum approaches and improvements that are research informed, evidence based, and based on the scholarship of learning and teaching.

Scope of Awards

There are three Teaching Excellence Awards recognised annually, each $1500 in value, to be used for purposes that will support the ongoing enhancement of teaching and educational quality.

Application Process

Applicants should submit a succinct claim of excellence in teaching, addressing at least two of the focus areas above and clearly outline the following:

Evidence
Impact

The application should not exceed four pages.

Obligations of Award Recipients

Recipients will be expected to host a scholarly workshop for colleagues from across the College, facilitated by the Dean (Education). Recipients will also be encouraged, as appropriate to develop a University Application for the Vice- Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Awards.
