Academic Procession

If you would like to take part in the academic procession at an upcoming graduation ceremony, please use the button below to apply.

All staff participating in the procession must register their attendance prior to the graduation ceremonies. Staff who do not register will not be able to join the academic procession or gain access to the Graduation Hall on the day.

Special requirements

Please advise Graduation Services if you require assistance at the graduation ceremony, or have other special requirements.

 

Confirmation email

You will receive a confirmation email of your participation, automatically after submission of your registration. Within this confirmation email, there will be information about the location, academic dress collection, designated meeting time and location prior to the ceremony, and the order of proceedings for the ceremony.

 

Academic dress for staff participating in the academic procession

If you wish to participate in the academic procession, Graduation Services can assist with academic dress if you do not have your own. Alternatively you are also able to purchase academic dress. 

 

Hire academic dress (Flinders Graduate) keyboard_arrow_up

The university will provide a gown, hood and mortarboard in specific degree colours (subject to availability) to all graduates of Flinders University, free of charge.

Please note, academic dress for postgraduate degrees, particularly doctorates, is limited and students will be given preference for hire, therefore we cannot guarantee availability of these. We can offer a plain black gown and mortarboard if your degree colours are unavailable.

Academic dress must be collected and returned on the same day as the ceremony.

Hire academic dress (Non-Flinders Graduate) keyboard_arrow_up

The university will provide the Flinders equivalent gown, hood and mortarboard or bonnet if you are a graduate from another university.

If you want to wear degree colours from your university and do not have your own academic dress, we encourage you to contact them to arrange hire or purchase.

Staff tickets

All Flinders University staff are able to request a guest ticket, if they would like to attend a graduation ceremony as a guest.

Staff who wish to attend as a guest must register for a ticket prior to the graduation ceremonies commencing. Staff who do not register for their ticket will not be able to gain entry to the Graduation Hall on the day.

Ticket registration will close, midnight 21 March 2025.

Please note that if you are participating in the academic procession, you do not require a guest ticket.
