This guide explains how to generate, save and automate a report based on research output using the ResearchNow reporting module.
If you don't have access to Reporting, contact ResearchNow team.
Login in to ResearchNow
On workspace select BETA New Reporting on left hand side. A new window will open up
Select Create a New Workspace and then select Research Outputs:
The Research Output type will appear as default on the Data table tab. Select Value on top right hand side. A list of all research output fields will appear organized by categories
Select Add column
On right hand side select Select Value and add value. This will allow you to add values belonging to research output data type
Select Add column
On right side select Select Value and add value on research outputs related content. This will allow you to add values from data types that are related to research outputs e.g. Persons, Organisation Units, External Persons etc). You will notice that when you do this the columns you select will be organized by datatype on the Data table.
Select Research Outputs at top of table. This will select all of the value columns you selected for Research Outputs
Select Filter on right hand side and then Add filter
Select a value to filter on e.g. Type and then Type
Select a Type to filter on e.g. Article
Select Save as and Save Workspace
Select Export as CSV. You can export as csv or Excel
Select Share. Select either an individual user or set of all users who have access to research output datatype to share report with
Select Data Story tab towards the bottom of the screen:
Select Chart i.e. bar, column etc. A visualization will appear
Add Title
Drag and drop Dimensions and Measures based on your Data table to the visualization. Note that only a single Dimension and Measure can be selected at a time.
Select icon next to New Reporting on top left hand side
Select Shared by Institution. You will see a list of reports that have been shared with you if you have access to same datatype.
