This guide explains how to create a dashboard in the following research areas using ResearchNow:
Profiles
Research Outputs
Login to ResearchNow.
Navigate to the Dashboard tab on the top menu.
NOTE: By default, the dashboard is empty; widgets can be created as needed.
Select Add widget at the top right corner of the Dashboard menu bar. A pop-up appears.
From the left-hand pane of the pop-up, choose a category (e.g. Research outputs) to add a widget, or type a keyword in the search field.
To change the default widget display:
Select an option from the Type dropdown menu.
Select the number of items for the widget to display.
Select Add to add the widget to the dashboard.
To change the display location of the widget on the dashboard:
Select the widget.
Drag and drop it to the desired location on the dashboard. It will ‘snap’ into place.
To change the filter setting for the widget(s) on your dashboard, on the Dashboard menu bar towards the top of the screen:
Select on the organisational unit (second dropdown field across top of screen) and choose the unit(s) of interest.
Select on the category (second dropdown field, e.g. No selection) and select the category / categories of interest.
Select on the date range (e.g. 1 Jan 2017 [Symbol] 31 Dec 2019) and change it to the desired period (e.g. current year, specific year range etc).
To create an additional dashboard, select My dashboard and select New dashboard. A pop-up appears.
Enter a name for the new dashboard in the Title field and select Save.
A newly created widget is placed on your My dashboard by default. You can change the dashboard layout (i.e. number and width of columns for a dashboard) under Settings on the right of the Dashboard menu bar.
You will only be able to use data that you have access to in the dashboard. This will depend on the role or roles that you have in ResearchNow and the organisation levels that you have access to.
