Online Learning & Teaching

We work with teaching staff to design student-centred technology-enhanced learning and teaching strategies. Working with the University community, we:

• provide advice on selecting, developing, managing and evaluating topic and course-wide strategies, activities, resources and assessments in the online environment
• collaborate on course-wide elearning design to ensure consistency
• share and promote good practice in online learning and teaching
• develop examples of evidence-based learning activities and resources, including mock-ups and proof of concepts
• work with teaching staff to produce rich content (images, video, animation and digital assets)
• collaborate on the educational uses of new technologies and tools in learning and teaching
• use a project approach to deliver strategically agreed online learning and teaching projects/initiatives
• develop elearning support materials for use by all university staff

We support academic and professional staff in the use of Flinders Learning Online (FLO) to support learning and teaching in online (digitally delivered and assessed) and blended (a combination of online and traditional face-to-face learning) modes. We will:

• setup templates, sites and start of teaching transfer of materials into FLO sites, including sites for courses and collaboration
• assist with the design, development and implementation of online and blended topics
• advise and assist with the effective use of tools and activities in the online environment
• provide advice and support in the use of innovative and emerging uses of educational technologies
• help develop reusable content and activities for use in learning and teaching
• support college initiatives in online and blended learning
• assist with quality assurance systems and processes as they relate to eLearning

We lead professional development for technology-enhanced learning to support creative and innovative teaching practices that add value to student experiences.

We do this by:

• facilitating elearning and educational technology workshops across the University
• designing, developing and delivering custom workshops for colleges, teaching programs and small groups
• collaborating with staff to provide personalised training to fulfil business needs
• providing support materials for the use of technology-enabled teaching tools
• providing online resources to support the delivery of technology-enabled learning
• coordinating and facilitating communities of practice related to technology-enhanced learning and teaching

• receive 1:1 training by contacting your college eLearning team
• refer to online materials via the FLO staff support

The Learning and Teaching Services team provides workshops and one-on-one assistance for staff and higher degree students in the use of computer applications such as Word, Excel, Endnote, NVivo and SPSS. Support material is available 24/7 from the Digital services webpage. Workshops are available as per the courses schedule at Bedford Park campus.
