Innovation in Learning and Teaching Awards

Purpose

This award scheme is designed to spotlight agile, responsive, and enterprising teaching practices in which staff and students are committed to excellence. We encourage teaching innovation with approaches to teaching and learning that have a paramount focus on student success and promote Flinders University as an international leader in educational innovation, advanced learning technologies and learning analytics.

Scope of Awards

There are three Innovation in Learning and Teaching Awards recognised annually, each $1500 in value, and should contribute to an increase in professional knowledge, way of working and/or enhancement of practice.

All staff, regardless of classification as Academic, Professional, Continuing, Contract or Casual are eligible to nominate for these awards.

Application Process

Nominations to be submitted as a 5-minute video. The video should provide a minimum of three claims with supporting examples and evidence against one of the following categories:

Innovative initiatives to promote excellence in student learning
Leadership and support of staff in Learning and Teaching with focus on student success
Teaching & learning that promotes Flinders University as an international leader in educational innovation

Obligations of Award Recipients

Recipients will be expected to contribute to a scholarly workshop for colleagues from across the College, facilitated by the Dean (Education). Recipients may also be encouraged, as appropriate, to develop a University application for the Vice- Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Awards.
