Overview

This guide shows how to  

  • Create and edit a FAAR template for an Organisation Unit or number of Organisation Units

  • Perform batch downloads of FAAR reports for persons, people or an organization unit.

  • Set up FAAR notifications

Process

Configure Email Notifications

Steps

  1. Login to ResearchNow

  2. Navigate to FAAR tab  

  3. Create new FAAR template:

    1. Select FAAR Templates

    2. Select Add new Template

    3. Select Configuration template tab:

      • Provide a Template Name

      • Select an Organisation Unit (single or multiple)

      • Select Research Output format (Short, Standard, Harvard etc)

    4. Select Cover Page tab

      • Add a title, logo and included metadata

    5. Select Report sections:

      • Select the Header fields that you would like to display (up to 6 header fields can be selected)

      • By default all active datatypes appear in the report i.e. Research Outputs, Projects, and Applications etc. You can choose to remove these or move them up or down

      • You can also add new datatypes to the report by selecting the Add button at bottom of window if some have been previously removed.

    6. Select Save

  4. Edit existing FAAR template

    1. Select a template from the list other than the Standard template which cannot be edited

    2. The Delete, Edit and Preview buttons are available

    3. Edit the Configuration, Cover page and Report sections

  5. Batch download of FAAR reports:

    1. Select Batch download from left hand side

    2. Select Organisations tab:

      • Select Organisations to report on. The available Organisations will depend on your role

      • Optionally choose to remove sections with no data

      • Configure the period of the report if different from the default

      • Select whether to create report as PDF or Word

    3. Select Persons tab:

      • Select Persons to report on. The available Persons will depend on your role

      • Optionally choose to remove sections with no data

      • Configure the period of the report if different from the default

      • Select whether to create report as PDF or Word

  6. Notifications of FAAR reports

    1. Select Notifications from left hand side. A notification message can be sent as an email to all Persons who have one or more organizational affiliations linked to a FAAR template

      • Select New notification message

      • Add an Email subject and Email message content

      • Set a date to send message

      • Set Recurring yearly to On or Off

Notes

The default timeframe for the FAAR report is set by the Administrator role and will apply to all templates created by Administrators and Editors. The period is only able to be configured when performing a batch download for an organisation or person.

Note also that only one FAAR template is able to be configured for an organisation unit at any one time.
