ResearchNow automatically harvests research outputs for researchers who have a linked Scopus ID in their profile.
Follow these steps to enable streamlined Library claiming and validation of outputs:
1. Add your Scopus ID to your ResearchNow profile
Scopus feeds directly into ResearchNow, but only when a Scopus ID has been linked to a profile. Without it, your outputs won’t be harvested automatically requiring manual entry of publications.
2. Check and consolidate your Scopus IDs if needed
Multiple Scopus IDs are created during the publishing process because of inconsistencies in by-lining, including moving institutions, using different publishing names, and multiple affiliations.
Consistent and accurate author affiliation is crucial for ensuring your outputs are correctly linked to you. Always list Flinders University as your affiliated organisation (as per the Authorship of Research procedure) and use a consistent publishing name across all publications. Learn more here.
To check if you have multiple Scopus IDs, conduct a Scopus Author Search and search for your name. This will display your Scopus profile(s) and ID(s).
What to do if you have multiple Scopus IDs
You can request a profile merge via the Scopus Author Feedback Wizard. If you have any difficulties, contact the Library for assistance.
3. Link your ORCiD to your Scopus and ResearchNow profile
Linking your ORCiD with your Scopus and ResearchNow profile, as well as publishing with your ORCiD all facilitate the author attribution process. Learn more about ORCiD here. We recommend providing as much information as possible on your ORCiD and making this publicly visible.
