You will be ultimately responsible to the Executive Dean/Head of the major cost centre. Your day to day supervisor for all purposes is nominated on the new contract form.
Your responsibilities are specified in your Position Description. The Position Description may be subject to variation in accordance with the University’s operational requirements. Please note that the Position Description does not form part of your formal contract.
Your term of appointment is as specified in your new contract of employment or until such time as the funding allocation is unable to fund the position, whichever is the earlier. In the absence of any other advice, this also serves as notice that your contract will cease in accordance with the specified end date of your contract.
Your terms and conditions will be covered under the prevailing Flinders University Enterprise Agreement which, together with a summary of its key elements, is available at the terms and conditions webpage. Please note that its terms and conditions will not form part of your contract of employment.
Your appointment will also be subject to University policies as they exist from time to time (including those pertaining to occupational health and safety and equal opportunity). However, for clarity, these do not form part of your contract of employment. The University’s policies and procedures can be accessed at Policies and procedures: Employment and staffing.
The University’s salary scales can be found on the salary rates webpage.
If your salary is less than the maximum step of the salary scale you will be entitled, on completion of each successive year of service, to be considered for progression to the next step of the salary scale, subject to your performance in your position being assessed by your supervisor as satisfactory.
The University provides a range of leave entitlements including annual recreation leave, long service leave, personal leave and special paid leave. Specific entitlements are prescribed in the prevailing Enterprise Agreement.
If you are not an Australian citizen/permanent resident, this offer is subject to you having appropriate visa status to enable you to work and live in Australia. You are required to provide a certified copy of your Visa to People and Culture. Certification by a Justice of the Peace is sufficient.
The university's superannuation contributions will be provided at the same rate as the contract this replaces and will be amended, if required, to meet any change in superannuation legislative requirements.
