Student Policy and Integrity services provides the following services:
1. Overseeing and coordinating the University’s student complaint, review and appeal processes. The team’s responsibilities include:
a. providing a central lodgement point for students making complaints about the University or seeking reviews of a University decision;
b. receipting, triaging and maintaining records of student complaints, reviews and appeals;
c. providing advice on staff on policies and procedures relating to student complaints, reviews and appeals:
d. providing advice to students on the University’s student complaints and appeal processes, including their procedural rights;
e. undertaking and supporting investigations into significant and/or complex student complaints;
f. providing executive support for the Student Appeals Committee, which is the final point for the University’s internal student appeals and complaints processes
2. Providing administrative support to the University’s student academic integrity functions, including:
a. providing advice to College staff conducting investigations into breaches of academic integrity;
b. supporting and managing investigations into serious cases of academic misconduct;
c. maintaining a register of student academic integrity breaches.
3. Providing administrative support for the University’s student conduct framework as specified in University student conduct statute, policy and procedures. The team’s responsibilities include:
a. providing advice to College staff and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Quality and Enhancement) on student conduct matters;
b. supporting and managing investigations into student misconduct cases, in particular serious and complex cases of student misconduct;
c. providing executive support for Boards of Inquiry, which are formal disciplinary Boards established to consider serious cases of student misconduct.
4. Providing regular reports to Governance Committees, the Senior Executive, and Colleges on trends in student complaints, reviews and appeals, and student academic integrity and student misconduct cases, using de-identified data.
5. Providing advice on and support for the development of student-related policies and procedures, especially those relating to student complaint and appeal processes, academic integrity and student misconduct matters.
