Dear colleagues,
As the COVID-19 situation continues to improve around South Australia, I want to thank all of you for your work over the last couple of weeks. You have once again shown enormous professionalism and adapted seamlessly to the changing restrictions in South Australia – thankfully, it looks like our snap lockdown last week has worked and we continue to hear good news from SA Health - including no new cases today.
In particular, it’s been a great team effort to get Semester Two underway amidst such fast changing circumstances – kudos for your efforts to deliver engaging learning virtually for our students.
Our exceptional campus experience here at Flinders University is one of our hallmarks. As restrictions continue to ease, we will see more students return to our campuses and an enthusiastic buzz picking up across our campuses from Monday.
Our academic staff will keep lectures on-line, but we will be returning to face-to-face for other learning activities as space allows. Likewise, our professional staff have done an excellent job and adapted to working from home and then back again in the last few days. We appreciate your efforts, and we look forward to having everyone back on our campuses next week.
Of course, there are some staff who are still subject to quarantine restrictions or fall into vulnerable groups, so if that is you, please stay safe, and we look forward to having you join us when you can.
Level 3 restrictions are still in place in South Australia, so please continue to do the right thing to keep yourself and those around you safe by observing SA Health’s recommendations. SA Health is strongly recommending wearing a mask, keeping a physical distance, and getting tested if you develop any COVID-19 symptoms.
Once again, thank you all for doing your part.
-Mark, on behalf of the Flinders COVID-19 taskforce.
